February is a wrap

February is a wrap

Date: February 24, 2018 | By Ashlyn Rohr, OHHS student

And the countdown begins as the students of Ogemaw Heights High School are ready to enjoy summer break. Many of the seniors are waiting for the day to receive their diploma and continue their future. With February winding down the kids have had a lot of fun. The students have had dances, pep assemblies, spirit weeks, and many, many laughs along the way.

The students just received the news that they now are receiving free school lunches, so now all the kids have a chance to eat lunch at school. Megan Killingbeck says, “I really appreciate the school board caring about the students, and providing us free food because that is an appreciated act that they didn’t have to provide.” Many of the kids were excited as they love the new deli bar we have received; we get to have deli twice a week.

Cory Curley said, “I really enjoy Valentine’s Day, with all the smiles and happiness that is being spread around the school”. The students just finished celebrating Valentine’s Day; many had flowers in the hall and of course, chocolate.

Now the students of Ogemaw Heights are waiting for the special day of prom. The ladies are already looking for dresses and the guys haven’t been looking for anything. Prom seems to be a very special day for the ladies because they plan months ahead, but you will notice the guys just wait for the day and dance. Prom is a special day for the seniors because it is their last dance to be with their friends and enjoy all the old memories. Prom is a night of remembrance, friendship, laughter, and memories that will be cherished forever.

As the month of February comes to a close, the students are ready for more fun and memories to come. For the seniors there’s only four more months of fun until they close a chapter of their lives and open a new one. February is just a month, but it’s a month of fun for the students of Ogemaw Heights High School.
