North Central Michigan Community Foundation offers scholarship opportunities

Date: February 10, 2018 |

The North Central Michigan Community Foundation (NCMCF) is accepting applications for its 2018 competitive scholarship program. Students from Crawford, Ogemaw and Oscoda counties are eligible to apply for these awards.

Many of the scholarship opportunities, available through NCMCF, depend upon the high school from which a student is graduating or has graduated, the college they plan to attend, or their planned field of study. To be eligible, students must complete the application by the April 2 deadline.

Scholarship applicants should visit the “Scholarships” section of the Community Foundation’s website at www.ncmcf.org, where criteria and application instructions for each scholarship can be found.

New scholarships, or those being awarded for the first time, include the Lee H. Ward Memorial Scholarship and the Kristin Marie Provoast Memorial Scholarship, both through the Educational Support Partnership Funds at NCMCF. Students from Crawford, Ogemaw and Oscoda counties are also eligible for the Raymond Plaunt Memorial Maritime Scholarship.

Scholarships awarded during the 2018 competitive scholarship program are for the 2018-19 academic year, and are paid directly to the educational institution the student will be attending. The application deadline for most North Central Michigan Community Foundation scholarships is April 2, 2018.

The North Central Michigan Community Foundation is a charitable organization serving Crawford, Ogemaw and Oscoda counties. It is an affiliate of the Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan, which serves as the administrative arm for its affiliate foundations. NCMCF is committed to providing people who care about the future of its service area with unique and effective ways of supporting their community now, and for generations to come. Led by a volunteer board of local citizens, the foundation oversees a group of permanently endowed funds from a wide range of donors.
