Times have really changed since the days when children ran out their front doors and into the front yard to yell “Stink-wagon!” This is what the children would yell when every automobile would pass their way. Dr. T. S. Glenn of Ogemaw County, West Branch, knew all about why they were yelling “Stinkwagon!,” “Stinkwagon!” because he was the person who brought the first automobile to West Branch back in 1906.

Quilt Walk raises $6,400

Thanks to the members of the Rifle River Quilt Guild, West Branch Creative Arts Association, and Sharon Goatbe for coordinating the event again this year, the 33rd Annual Quilt Walk in West Branch in October not only provided funds to assist non-profit Hospice of Helping Hands, Inc. with patient needs, but also drew a large variety of people from all over the state.

Over 200 unique and special quilts of all sizes and styles were on display throughout the town, along with quilting demonstrations, vendors...

Chamber announces nominees

The West Branch Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2018 Outstanding Business Awards nominees. The official ballot is located on page 11.

Awards will be presented at the Chamber of Commerce Winter Ball on Feb. 17 at the Quality Inn & Forward Conference Center in West Branch. Tickets for the ball are on sale at the chamber office or through any chamber ambassador. Discounted lodging is available for this night at the Quality Inn.
